Welcome to the future of media as you know it. This is the center of the new multiverse of content that will shape the world you consume.
To prove that's not hyperbole, check out the content I've created and rest assured more is coming. Why? Because of my background.
My name is D. Lanier Shook and I bring economy, speed, and niche content creation together in one package that everyone will enjoy.
It's taken me two decades of travel journalism, illustration, writing, and information collection to get here, but God is good and here we are.
Please join me as we head into the future of media and content. I promise that you will not be disappointed.
Okay, I'm on several social media platforms and
this is where you can keep up with all of it.
Million Dollar Artist, my Twitter Account
The Information Collector, my YouTube Account
dlaniershook.wordpress.com, my personal blog
WNC Travel Intelligence, my travel intelligence blog
My first efforts at writing were ... conventional. Spy thrillers, a Great American Novel (yes, that's a thing), and a romance novel were attempts to follow the Great Writer's Path to fame and riches. (Spoiler alert: Didn't work.) So, last year I began a new phase in my life by publishing my first paperback and this year I published my first non-ficiton. Things are moving fast and this is the place to keep up with it all

For some time I've had "illustrator" on my resume and that covers a multitude of work. Watercolor, pen and ink, acrylic, and digital mediums are most (or all) of what I work in. Click here to check out a few samples of my work.
The Hollywood Strike and the Departure of Tucker Carlson from Fox convinced me it was time to start my own television outlet. At the moment it's on my YouTube account, The Information Collector. But this is where you can come for the exciting new content we're rolling out. Click here to visit it's home page and learn about our exciting upcoming Winter Season.
“Quality, Speed, Price – pick two.” That's a phrase I learned from Josh Weltman, the advertising consultant for Mad Men. That's why I named my studio "Cheap, Fast, Bad" --- the idea being that we turn out material as quickly and cheaply as possible with the goal of getting better as we go along. At the risk of being redundant, you can find the content I've produced on my YouTube channel at The Information Collector, plus you can click here to visit our homepage.
Life is hard. It always has been and it sure isn't getting any easier. Despite the many blessings I've been given, life is still hard. This website is testimony to God and the support He has given to carry me through those struggles.
Although I was raised in a God-fearing home by loving parents who sought to honor Him, life has still been ... life. Salvation in Christ has literally been all that brought me through those struggles. God's Word and the Fellowship of my brothers and sisters in Christ has carried me through those struggles. Every day is a new battle, but as I submit myself to the leadership of The Spirit, the way is shown clearly.
It's not easy, but it is possible through Christ Who strengtheneth me. He knows what will happens and --- as I submit to Him --- guides me through the chaos. The first step in that submission was becoming a Christian. If you want help, guidance, and stability in your life just click here to learn how you, too, can find peace and hope even in the worst of circumstances.
